John M. MacKenzie is Emeritus Professor of imperial history at Lancaster University and holds honorary professorships at the University of Aberdeen, St. Andrew and Edinburgh. He has published on many aspects of the cultural and environmental history of the British Empire/5. An account of the Pelew Islands, situated in the western part of the Pacific Ocean. Composed from the journals and communications of Captain Henry Wilson, and some of his officers, who, in August , were there shipwrecked in the Antelope, a Packet Belonging to the Hon. HENRY MACKENZIE, Esq. was born at Edinburgh in Auguston the same day on which Prince Charles Stuart landed in Scotland. Mackenzie published a complete edition of his works, in eight volumes octavo; including a tragedy, The Spanish Father, and a comedy, The White Hypocrite, which last was once performed at the Theatre-Royal Covent.
